Curbed Publishes the Emails

The plot thickens. Today, the real estate blog Curbed released the emails between Vornado and the Landmarks Preservation Commission (as mentioned in today’s earlier post, below). Read the whole article here.

Update on MHT Case

In case you missed it, the New York Times’ Robin Pogrebin wrote a piece about recent developments in our case to halt work at the Manufacturers Hanover site. The article brought to light our recent discovery of emails between former Landmarks Commissioner Meredith Kane (now a Vornado lawyer handling the MHT case), and the Landmarks Preservation Commission.


Theodore Grunewald, the founder of the Coalition to Save Manufacturers Hanover Trust and a plaintiff in the lawsuit, said: “The ability for a real-estate industry to reach inside the operations of our city government to suit their own purposes is appalling. It brings up a larger question of why a large corporation like Vornado is given special treatment above the law and behind the scenes.”
